Inspire Our School To Greater Heights!

Dear Alumni,
I hope you and your family are all doing well. It is my pleasure, as your Alumni Chairman, to connect with you through this latest edition of our newsletter.
First, I would like to express our utmost tribute and gratitude to our Vice-Chairman, Mr. Jimmy Ng. Jimmy passed away peacefully in February this year. He was one of the main pillars of our Alumni Association, always giving his greatest support and contributions quietly. He will always be remembered in our hearts.
For our first main event in 2025, Chongfu Alumni and the school successfully co-organised our yearly Inter-Class Chinese Composition Competition in March. Since we started our own competition three years ago, we have seen vast improvements in our students’ Chinese composition writing standards at the annual Five-Schools Chinese Composition Writing Competition organised by SHHK. It is truly heartwarming to see our students developing a growing interest in Chinese composition writing.
Our Alumni association had n also successfully co-organised our 110th Anniversary Lunch Celebration with the school in April, with Mr. Paul Loo, Vice-Chairman of SHHK, as our Guest of Honour. Our students put up a wonderful and memorable performance!
In order not to forget our roots, our school organised a Heritage Trail Excursion for all students in July as part of the 110th Anniversary Celebration. I am heartened that many of our alumni members took time off to assist in this meaningful event.
For next year, we are currently exploring the possibility of organising a Chinese Public Speaking Competition jointly with the school. We hope that it will further enhance our students’ proficiency in Chinese and increase their interest in speaking the language.

希望您和家人一切安好。作为校友会主席，我十分高兴能通过本期校友通讯与您再次联系。
首先，我谨代表校友会，向本会副主席黄龙金先生致以最崇高的敬意与深切的感谢。黄先生已于今年二月安详辞世。他是校友会的重要支柱之一，多年来始终默默奉献，给予我们极大的支持与鼓励。他的音容笑貌与贡献将永远铭记在我们心中。
作为2025年的首个主要活动，校友会与母校于三月成功联合举办了一年一度的班级中文作文比赛。自三年前举办此项比赛以来，我们欣喜地看到，学生们在新加坡福建会馆主办的“五校中文作文比赛”中，中文写作水平显著提升。看到学生们对中文作文创作的兴趣日益浓厚，令人倍感欣慰。
此外，校友会亦于四月与母校联合举办了创校110周年午宴庆祝活动，并邀请新加坡福建会馆副主席吕立岩先生担任主礼嘉宾。学生们精心准备的表演精彩动人，为活动增添了难忘的回忆。
为不忘初心、饮水思源，母校于七月特别为全体学生举办了“校园传承之旅”活动，作为110周年校庆系列活动之一。我由衷感谢众多校友抽出宝贵时间参与并协助此次活动，让庆典更添意义。
展望明年，校友会正与母校探讨联合举办“中文演讲比赛”的可能性。我们期望通过此活动，进一步提升学生的中文水平，并激发他们对中文口语表达的热情。
